Safeguarding People and Environment

The Centre for Environmental Justice (CEJ) have released a new publication on safeguarding people and the environment to minimise the impacts of development projects in Sri Lanka.

According to CEJ, Sri Lankan Environmental Impact Assessment processes have not been updated in over 25 years, therefore, they are inadequate to provide the required environmental governance and the environmental protection.

The report introduces new approaches and messages to national leaders and policy makers on the need for broader social and environmental safeguard protection.
