FoE Asia Pacific is hosting a webinar titled “Environmental Justice and Resisting Imperialism in the Asia Pacific”.
Friends of the Earth International has called for a permanent end to the war on Iran, an end to the genocide in Palestine, and a diplomatic resolution to all conflicts. Imperialist aggression poses an existential threat to both people and the planet, diverting public resources away from welfare and urgent climate action. FoEI calls for the dismantling of imperialism and to confront all systems of oppression.
Across the Asia Pacific region, these realities are deeply felt. From West Asia, including Palestine, to other parts of the region, communities are struggling to protect their lands, waters, and livelihoods from aggressive extraction, militarisation, and dispossession by imperialist forces.
This webinar aims to create a space for critical political engagement on how imperialist wars and geopolitical domination are deeply linked to environmental destruction, displacement, resource extraction, and the erosion of peoples’ sovereignty and livelihoods.
